Assisting high school agricultural students to gain confidence, experience and expertise, this two-part competition is central to the Perth Royal Show and a key driver for the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA).

Part one is farm skills, which is held in the lead-up to the Perth Royal Show – testing knowledge and competency in sheep shearing, tractor driving, chemical safety, fence construction, ram selection and welding.

Part two sees the students progress their animal husbandry skills in individual competitions including cattle and sheep. Points are awarded for all competitions with trophies presented to the most successful schools in each part.
