Perth Royal Show 2024 Terms & Conditions

The Terms and Conditions below relate to The 2024 Perth Royal Show, located at Claremont Showground and managed by The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia’s (RASWA). 

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before confirming your purchase. By making a purchase you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read these in conjunction with our Privacy Policy. Failure to read or comply with these Terms & Conditions does not qualify the ticket holder for a refund of any sort.  

We may vary these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any variations become effective on posting. By making a purchase you agree to be bound by any variation.   

 Tickets 

In 2024 The State Government is subsiding the cost of tickets. All ticket prices shown are the reduced-cost ticket.

All tickets can be purchased online. Limited tickets may be available for purchase at the gates.  

EVERY PATRON REQUIRES A TICKET TO ENTER THE SHOW, INCLUDING CHILDREN 15 AND UNDER.  

FREE TICKETS FOR CHILDREN 15 AND UNDER ARE ONLY AVAILABLE WITH A PAID ADULT OR CONCESSION TICKET. 

Patrons can add additional child tickets under their My Orders page, where they will be given the option to add additional child tickets. Customers can add up to 4 child tickets per paid ticket.  

ONLINE: 

  • Tickets must be purchased online using a credit or debit card (16 digits) including: VISA, Mastercard and AMEX. PayPal is also accepted. 
  • EFTPOS (savings) cards are not accepted online. 
  • Online transactions incur fees as outlined below. 

 

GATE SALES:  

  • Gate sales are not guaranteed, and if available, will incur additional fees due to the cost of staffing and logistics. 
  • If available, payment may be made via 16-digit credit or debit card including: VISA, Mastercard and AMEX. 
  • EFTPOS (savings) cards are not accepted at the gate.  
  • Fees apply to Cards, with a higher fee applied to Cash transactions, as outlined below.     

 

Please note that purchasing your tickets online is the most cost-effective option.

General Terms and Conditions 

These terms are bound and supported by our ticketing partner Megatix terms and conditions. For more information, visit Terms and conditions (megatix.com.au) 

  • Refunds:  Unless required by Australian Consumer Law or stipulated otherwise in these Terms, refunds are NOT permitted. No refunds will be given on any ticket, including complimentary tickets. 
  • Date Changes: Date changes are permitted. For all existing bookings changes can be made via Megatix – My Orders  
  • Ticket Issuance: Tickets are issued electronically. Patrons must have their digital ticket (device) ready for scanning at the gate. Alternatively, a printed copy can be brought.  
  • Ticket Validity: Damaged, defaced, or forged tickets, or photos of tickets, are invalid for entry. Tickets obtained through unauthorized sources are also invalid. 
  • Resale and Usage: Tickets are not to be resold, used as prizes, corporate gifts, or for commercial gain without RASWA’s written permission. 
  • Program Changes: RASWA reserves the right to add, withdraw, or substitute artists and/or vary advertised programs, prices, seating arrangements, and audience capacity. 
  • Concession: Commonwealth Pensioner Concession, Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card, Veterans and Student Card holders are accepted. Health Care cards are not accepted.  
  • Proof: Proof of concession must be provided upon entry.  
  • Companion Card Holders: Please click here to ticket purchase a Companion Card ticket. Please note, a companion card MUST be shown to gate staff upon entry otherwise the ticket will not be valid. 

 

Adult Ticket Policy  

  • Each adult must have a day valid ticket to obtain entry to the Perth Royal Show.  
  • Gate staff will conduct random age checks – All patrons must be able to provide proof of ID upon request.  
  • A free Child Ticket can only be obtained through purchasing a paid Adult or Concession ticket.  
  • A maximum of four (4) Child Tickets can be obtained with every paid ticket. 
  • After the initial purchase, patrons can add additional child tickets under their My Orders page, up to 4 child tickets per paid ticket. 

 

Children’s Ticket Policy 

Thanks to the support of the State Government of Western Australia children aged 0-15 can enter the show for free. To ensure the safety of all patrons:  

  • Each child 15 and under must have a valid Child Ticket to obtain entry to the Perth Royal Show.  
  • Gate staff will conduct random age checks – All patrons must be able to provide proof of ID upon request.  
  • A free Child Ticket can only be obtained through purchasing a paid Adult or Concession ticket.  
  • You cannot obtain a Child Ticket separately. 
  • Complimentary ticket holders are not eligible for free child tickets.  
  • Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian who has a valid Adult or Concession ticket. 
  • A maximum of four (4) Child tickets can be obtained with every paid ticket.  
  • RASWA reserves the right to deny admission to, or eject, patrons who have a Child Ticket but cannot prove that they are aged 15 and under. 
  • Gate staff will conduct random age checks. All patrons must be able to provide proof of ID upon request.   
 

Concession Ticket Policy  

  • Each Concession card holder must have a Valid Commonwealth Pensioner Concession, Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card, and Student Card.  
  • A maximum of four (4) Child Tickets can be obtained with every Concession ticket transacted. 
  • Health Care Cards are not accepted. 
  • All concession tickets must provide a valid concession card upon entry.  
  • Patrons holding a Veteran’s Affairs Card are eligible for a concession ticket. We are also pleased to share that Thursday 26 September is Veteran’s Day, and all patrons with Veteran’s Affairs Cards will be able to secure a free ticket for this day. 

General Conditions of Entry 

Our Conditions of Entry are designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. 

Conditions of Entry are subject to the requirements of WA government directives, including but not limited to, public health and social measures and restrictions as and when they are introduced and/or updated.  

Failure to adhere to these conditions of entry may result in the refusal of entry, and no refunds or exchanges will be issued.  

  • For the safety and comfort of attendees, a daily attendance cap of 70,000 applies. RASWA reserves the right to limit entry if this cap is exceeded. 
  • RASWA reserves the right to deny admission to, or eject, individuals who:
    • appear intoxicated, under the influence of illicit substances;
    • engage in disorderly conduct or cause a disturbance;
    • do not comply with directions or requests from staff;
    • use vulgar or abusive language; 
    • throw objects within the Showground;
    • indulge in behaviour that puts their own safety or the safety of others, including animals at risk;
    • Attempt to bring in prohibited items that can be used to threaten or harm other members of the public (refer to list below) 
    • otherwise violate RASWA Terms and Conditions. 
  • Display of Nazi symbols including the display of Nazi symbols is prohibited in Western Australia and any person displaying Nazi symbols will be denied entry or ejected from the Showgrounds. 
  • Persons will be subject to a security check, which may include personal checks, wanding, searching of bags, other containers (regardless of size) and clothing, when entering the Showgrounds. 
  • Persons must not attempt to conceal their identity at entry or while inside the Venue. RASWA will respect cultural differences and medical conditions. 
  • Wearing or displaying unauthorised commercial, political, or religious materials, or other offensive materials, is not permitted. 
  • Entry is permitted between 10am and until the Showground closes.  
  • To protect the health and safety of patrons, RASWA reserves the right to cease admission into the Showground at any time. 
  • Entry to the event is at the patron’s own risk. 
  • Patrons must follow all signs, notices, directions, or requests by RASWA staff, volunteers, and representatives while at the event. 
  • Patrons gaining unauthorised access to the Showground and/or any specific areas may be liable for prosecution. 
  • Patrons must take proper care of all belongings. RASWA is not liable for any loss or damage to patronal property. 
  • Patrons are responsible for their own actions and indemnify RASWA against any loss or liability, cost, expense, or damages arising from or in relation to their acts or omissions. 
  • Patrons participating in unauthorised sales or hawking of goods and services will be ejected from the event. 
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes, personal vaporisers, electronic nicotine delivery systems, or any other battery-powered vaporisers) is prohibited indoors and at all catering, public seating, or spectating areas, and is only permitted in designated areas. 
  • RASWA conducts CCTV surveillance at Claremont Showground. Patrons may be photographed, filmed, taped, and/or subjected to monitoring by close circuit television.  
  • By entering the event, patrons are providing permission and consent to RASWA or third parties photographing, filming, or taping and using the material across all mediums, without permission or compensation. 
  • Entry to the event does not guarantee automatic access to all events and activities. 
  • All accidents or emergencies must be immediately reported to Security. 
  • Only approved assistance animals are permitted into the Event.  
  • RASWA is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or death suffered by any patron or property while at the Showground. 
  • Ensure footwear is free of dirt and mud if travelled overseas within 7 days prior to entry. 
  • The event will have cloaking facilities, restrooms, first aid, food trucks, and refreshments for safety and convenience. 
  • Entry is limited to one per ticket.  
  • If you are a parent or guardian of a minor (persons under 18 years of age), you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions on behalf of the minor.This includes granting permission to RASWA to use the image, likeness, actions, and statements of the minor in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display related to the event, in any medium or context, without further authorisation or compensation. 

 

If anyone is under the age of 18 years old (minor), a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Conditions on behalf of the minor and ensure the minor complies with these Conditions. This includes granting permission to RASWA to use the image, likeness, actions, and statements of the minor in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display related to the event, in any medium or context, without further authorisation or compensation.  

Liquor License 

  • Entry into The Long Paddock, The Wheel & Bull, Cattle Lane Bar, Members Lounge, Councilors Lounge, and Woody Bar signifies entry into a licensed area. 
  • All 18+ patrons must have a valid/current photo ID (a current Australian driver’s licence, current passport, or proof of age card) presented upon arrival to gain entry to the Licensed area. 
  • Intoxicated patrons will be refused entry or removed from the event. 
  • Anyone under 18 will be refused access to licensed premises, unless accompanied by a person over 18. 
  • Alcoholic beverages cannot be purchased on behalf of a person under the age of 18 years. 
  • Alcoholic beverages cannot be brought into the Showground. 
  • Supplying alcohol to minors is prohibited and will be reported to police. Penalties apply under the Liquor Act 2007. 

 

Prohibited Items 

The following items are not permitted at the Perth Royal Show.  

Items not permitted and subject to immediate confiscation and police (WAPOL) intervention:  

  • Illegal substances, including illegal drugs 
  • Guns, knives, swords  
  • Illegal weapons 
  • Swiss Army knives, Leatherman  

 

Items not permitted: 

  • Alcoholic Beverages 
  • Glassware, breakable containers, or cans, including aerosol cans 
  • Flares, fireworks, explosives, smoke bombs/canisters, and other incendiary devices 
  • Laser pens and pointers 
  • Remote control vehicles, including drones (or any such aircraft) 
  • Metal flag poles, extendable flag poles, and flag poles capable of being used as a weapon 
  • Oversized banners and flags which may cause public nuisance 
  • Commercial, promotional, or other unauthorised marketing materials, including clothing for sale or other means of distribution 
  • Animals, other than certified service animals 
  • Folding chairs or stools 
  • Cameras and/or recording devices for commercial purposes, including tripods 
  • Whistles, hooters, horns, drums, or other musical instruments  
  • Scooters, roller skates, skateboards, segways, push bikes, or other unauthorised means of transportation 
  • Other items as determined by RASWA management that may cause damage, injury, or public nuisance 

Failure to comply will result in confiscation and ejection from the event. Patrons may have the option to cloak certain prohibited items upon entry on a case-by-case basis.  

Photography 

  • Amateur Photography: Allowed, provided it does not cause annoyance, the subjects consent, and the photos are not sold for commercial gain. 
  • Professional Equipment: Not permitted without prior written approval/engagement This includes photographic, video, or audio recording equipment for any purpose other than private non-commercial purposes, such as video and/or audio recorders, camera tripods, monopods, or lenses with a total focal length greater than 200mm, or any other commercial digital video equipment. 
  • Selling and Publishing: Patrons are not permitted to sell, license, or otherwise publish, disseminate, or reproduce any recordings taken inside the Showgrounds. 
  • Drones: Drones are strictly prohibited inside and surrounding the event 

Prams and Strollers 

  • Prams, strollers and carts are welcome at the Perth Royal Show. 
  • These may be stowed away from walkways and must not be left in aisles or areas impeding safe movement. Non-compliant prams may be left in designated bays.  
  • RASWA is not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of patronal property left in these bays. 

 

Cancellation Policy 

In the unfortunate event of cancellation of a Show day or the entire Perth Royal Show, RASWA is not obligated to arrange a substitute event. 

In cases of cancellation due to intervening circumstances (defined as events beyond our control, such as acts of God, public health emergencies, travel warnings, and government directives), we strive to provide fair and flexible remedies to ticket holders: 

  • Partial Refund: we may offer either a full refund or a partial refund (e.g., minus transaction/handling/booking fees or delivery charges).  
  • Exchange: we may provide a Ticket, valued at or above the original Ticket’s price, for a different Show day. 
  • Credit Note/Voucher: we may issue a credit note/voucher equal to the price paid for the Ticket.  
  • Donation Request: In addition to the above remedies, we may inquire if you are willing to forgo your refund/remedy and instead donate the Ticket’s purchase price. RASWA will also inform you about the recipient of this donation.  

The Event 

The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) has implemented strict processes to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees at the Perth Royal Show. The event hosts various activities amidst large animals, vehicles, crowds, temporary structures, occasional construction activities, and diverse environmental conditions. The event includes exhibitors and promoters showcasing a wide array of products and services including rides, animal shows, sporting events, retail, social gatherings, theatrical performances, entertainment and musical events. 

Participants may engage in events involving some level of risk. Please proceed with caution, adhering to all signage and instructions provided throughout the grounds. It is essential to take special care to safeguard yourself and others from any potential loss or injury.

Law and Jurisdiction  

The provisions of these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia
