Artist’s Statement:

The wetlands and lakes of the Swan coastal plain have been altered and changed drastically since European settlement. Often seen as strange or alien environments by early settlers and undervalued by ensuing developers, they were quickly filled in and built over with little or no thought to the damage caused to the environment or to the impact of the loss of important food sources and hunting grounds to the local Indigenous people. Remnants and Ghosts #2 is my response to the ongoing loss and of these endangered habitats and valuable ecosystems.
