Artist’s Statement:

This work mirrors a transition of decreasing and increasing densification. This process I visualize to be the density of roots, which represent the past, the underground, and the hidden depths, transitioning to lighter and more visible landscapes. The emergence of new potentials for nature, of mountains perhaps, is a result of this journey in the Kimberley: the effort and struggle of the roots surfacing are signifying a transformation.
