Artist’s Statement:

‘Chants of Rain!’ depicts the stark and haunting gaze upon the Midwest Australian landscape, profoundly affected by an enduring lack of rain. This plein-air painting is a visceral response to the environmental changes we face and the resilient spirit of the land. Highlights of yellow speak of the parched surroundings. ‘Chants of Rain’ is more than a portrayal of a geographic area; it is an exploration of endurance, adaptation, and the reflective connection between land and humanity. Through this work, I delve into the contentious beauty of dry scenery and hope to inspire dialogue about our role in nurturing the world we inhabit.
