Artist’s Statement:

Travelling and camping across Australia since 1998 and exploring new areas locally and afar is what keeps me stimulated in painting. Over the past 10 years I have incorporated inland landscapes ranging from the wheatbelt regions to the Pilbara and Kimberley and also the many salt lakes we have in Western Australia. I paint mainly with pastels ? being a dry medium it allows me to work spontaneously without waiting for paint to dry.I have also enjoyed pushing this medium to its boundaries. Applying various textures and techniques to the painting surface before overlaying with the pastels to add another dimension to my work.
