Artist’s Statement:
Much of my work focuses on place and space. Having arrived here as a migrant from one of the most densely populated countries in the world, I continually wonder at the amount of bush and expanse of space we have here. I am especially interested in the spaces taken for granted; empty blocks, public reserves, and facilities of local amenities. These are places to rest, sit, hide, or gather, that are from no one, or for everyone. These places, give me a feeling that there is room to move, a place to relax, to be in nature. I like to celebrate these places and emphasise them in colour and form.
