Artist’s Statement:

I resist being categorised as a straightforward, topographical landscape artist and intentionally create images which are not exact representations of experiences of places seen, rather suggest them and by exploiting the magical painting processes, I’m provided with enough space to muse and hypothesise, for the viewer to do likewise and perhaps even recognise. Masterful inspirations are the late works of Lloyd Rees, Sidney Nolan and JMW Turner, their sight so miraculously manifest in atmospheric landscapes wherein the experience of being in a landscape is master over the literal depiction of a scene or view.
