Perth Royal Show Serves Up a Feast in 2024

The Perth Royal Show is rolling into town, bringing with it an exciting and evolved menu of food and drinks.

Whether you’re on a culinary adventure with fellow foodies, keen to try award-winning beverages, or looking for wallet-friendly options, this year’s Show promises to cater to all tastes, preferences, and budgets.

New for 2024 is a vast selection of international and local cuisine, with 17 new food vendors making their debut. Patrons can look forward to an array of fresh options alongside beloved classics, with a greater variety to suit different dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and Halal options.

Overall, there are more than 80 independent food vendors across the Showgrounds. From global flavours to Western Australia’s finest produce, the Perth Royal Show offers a diverse and delectable experience that food lovers won’t want to miss.

Global Eats and Local Treats

  • Pasta e Fagioli and Gnocchi Gnocchi Boys transport you straight to Italy with authentic, bold pasta dishes.
  • Hungry Dragon offers mouth-watering bao buns, while Tikka Tango serves up modern Indian cuisine with tantalising paratha tacos.
  • For something refreshing, grab an antioxidant-packed açai bowl from Joey’s Açai, or nourish your soul with family-recipe dumplings from Chubby Dumpling.
  • Lovers of Middle Eastern food will love the hearty tagines from Real Moroccan Cuisine or tasty Turkish Gozleme, paired with freshly squeezed orange juice from The Big Orange.
  • For sweet tooths DNK Cupcakes offers 22 flavors, including vegan and nut-free options, while award winning Mai Tardi Gelato scoops up delicious frozen treats.
  • The Show welcomes new offerings like Pita Pit (debuting in WA for the first time), Sweet Purpose (chocolate-covered strawberries), and Bánh Mi Kitchen for mouth-watering Vietnamese sandwiches.
  • You can also indulge in Felix & French’s canine-shaped taiyaki or get a unique giant macaron ice cream slider from the Sweet Box Cart.
  • Japanese street eats from Wakka Japanese Noodle and modern Filipino food from Banana Leaf will also make their debut, ensuring a variety of fresh, exciting flavors.


Budget Friendly

  • Cheese toasties made with PRFA award winning ingredients can be purchased for just $4 at The Dairy Pavilion and Feasting Barn. Add ham for an extra 50 cents.
  • Thanks to Woolworths, you can grab a $5 sausage sizzle up at AgVenture Hill, with all proceeds supporting regional shows in WA and the Country Women’s Association, located at the Farm 2 Food Pavilion, will offer $5 scones, served from 11am until sold out. They also continue their ‘Teatime’ tradition between 10am and 4pm each day. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee served in fine china for just $3, and biscuits for $2.
  • Mini cupcakes are available from $3.75 at DNK Cupcakes in the Feasting Barn.
  • Decorate a character cupcake in the Creative Arts and Cookery (Ellie Eaton) Pavilion ‘Create and Take’ session for $5.


Get Your Caffeine Hit

With over 101 free activities to explore, you may need a caffeine boost. Choose from several coffee vendors scattered across the Showgrounds:

  • The Side Sip: Find them on Carter Lawn near the Chair Lift and Community Stage
  • Coffee Bean: Find them on Morrison Avenue near Farm 2 Food
  • Mopoke Coffee: Located up at Amherst Farm on AgVenture Hill
  • Groovin’ Beans Coffee Co: In the Farm 2 Food Pavilion and also near The Long Paddock on the Main Arena
  • Adventure Golf Coffee: Find them at Kid City, on the lawn near Gate 1.
  • Golden Girls Coffee: Located in the Shopping and Lifestyle Pavilion
  • Pussycat Café: Located next to the Cat Pavilion
  • Carvery Coffee: Located on Hardy Avenue

 

Perth Royal Food Awards Activation

If you’re eager to sample the best of Western Australia’s produce, make your way to our brand new Perth Royal Food Awards (PRFA) activation at the Farm 2 Food Pavilion.

Perth influencer and Master Chef contestant Alex Crisp will be taking over the Main Stage from 11am to 4pm daily, cooking up a storm with mouth-watering meals crafted heroing Perth Royal Food Award-winning produce, such as La Delizia Latticini‘s handmade Burrata, which won the Champion Cheese Trophy at the 2024 Perth Royal Dairy Awards as well as award winning meat and other fabulous PRFA produce.

Visitors can not only taste her delicious dishes but also take home the recipes to try themselves.

PRECINCTS

There are six dedicated zones for dining and drinking at this year’s Perth Royal Show, offering a place to sit, relax and soak up the atmosphere of the Show.

Our revamped themed bars, and brand-new dining precincts The Long Paddock and The Truck Stop, ensure there is something for every palate and preference.

A range of other independent food and beverage outlets are scattered around the Showgrounds, such as AgVenture Hill and the Shopping and Lifestyle area.

The Long Paddock (Map Reference 37)

The Long Paddock is the Perth Royal Show’s newest hub for 2024, located on the arena, it offers a welcoming retreat while keeping guests in the heart of the action. The venue features a double-decker viewing area that accommodates up to 200 guests, with the upper level offering panoramic views of the Main Arena.

Down below on the grass, picnic tables provide visitors with the perfect spot to relax, dine, and soak in the showground’s lively atmosphere.

Patrons can choose from a premium menu of drinks, including Rocky Ridge’s special edition Regal Lager on tap, Margaret River wines, and spirits from WA distilleries.

Seven food options are available nearby:

  • Mai Tardi, winner of three Trophies at the 2024 Perth Royal Dairy Awards, is serving up their Champion Nutty Heaven gelato.
  • Groovin’ Beans Coffee Co: Serving quality espresso, the perfect caffeine hit for a busy day at the Show.
  • Char Bros BBQ, offering specialty barbecued meats, including 12-hour smoked brisket with house-made slaw and chipotle ranch dressing and birria burritos.
  • Hungry Dragon Food Truck: Bringing Asian-inspired street food to the Show.
  • Danny’s Food Truck: A variety of comfort foods and crowd favourites, perfect for a quick and satisfying bite. Serving up a special smoked pork burger with fries.
  • Smokr is serving up slow-cooked meats, including tacos, burgers and kids’ meals.
  • Galleria Burrata from delicious Perth Royal Food Awards winners La Delizia are offering up Italian fare, including burrata bowls with sundried tomatoes, and fresh crostini.
  • Sushi Hub serves the viral Tamagoyaki on a stick, freshly made sushi rolls and delicious combos.

 

Open from 10am to 9pm daily, The Long Paddock offering the perfect spot to enjoy the daytime arena events such as horse jumping, or nighttime freestyle motocross, monster trucks, drones and fireworks.

If you’re in the mood for a delicious meal, a drink with friends, or simply a break from the hustle and bustle, it is a must-visit destination.

The Truck Stop (Map Reference 38)

Located next to Showbag Alley and behind the Community Stage, The Truck Stop offers a new outdoor street eats experience, with a variety of food trucks. Enjoy live entertainment on the Community Stage or dine under festoon lights – it’s the perfect spot to fuel up for an unforgettable day. Open daily from 10am to 9pm.

Feasting Barn (Map Reference 36)

A new and improved food court located in the Webster Pavilion next to our Shopping & Lifestyle area, the Feasting Barn Offers over 25 food options, including home-cooked meals and take away staples. Open from 10am to 8pm.

Cattle Bar (Map Reference 35)

A casual spot for drinks, Cattle Bar gives stockmen, tumbleweed and outback vibes. Set against the earthy tones of brown, black, and cream, it’s an ideal place to unwind before heading off to the excitement of Sideshow Alley. This venue is located next to the Cattle Lanes, and open daily from 10 am to 9 pm.

Woody’s Bar and BBQ (Map Reference 40)

Nestled between Rodeo Drive and Woodchop Arena this classic pub experience offers beer, bites, and lumberjack vibes. Picture blokes with beards and flannel. Woody’s is open from 10 am to 9 pm.

Wheel + Bull (Map Reference)

Wheel + Bull retains its original look and feel, located on the southwest side of the Main Arena near the Royal Bazaar.  Enjoy burgers from Milky Lane and the special edition Regal Lager. Enjoy a hearty meal while watching the Grand Final on our big screens. Open from 10 am to 9 pm.

BARS

With prices starting from just $10.00, the alcohol selection showcases the best of Western Australia’s beer, wine, and spirits, including Perth Royal Food Awards (PRFA) champion beverages.

This year, a special edition Regal Lager brewed by WA-based Rocky Ridge Brewing Company is available across all bars at the Show, including on tap exclusively at The Long Paddock.

Rocky Ridge Brewing Company was awarded Trophies for Best Hybrid & Specialty Beer Draught and Champion Large Brewery at the 2024 Perth Royal Beer Awards. Gage Roads won Best Lager Draught, and Shelter Brewing Co. took home the Trophy for Best Amber – Dark Ale Draught. Beer enthusiasts can enjoy beverages from all three breweries at the Show.

Wine enthusiasts can savor a selection of six wines from Margaret River wineries Swings & Roundabouts and Howard Park Winery, who won Silver and Gold Medals at the 2024 Perth Royal Wine Awards. They offer the perfect pairing with the array of food options available at the Show.

Local distillery Idle Hands will offer sweeter choices like Watermelon Collins and Yuzu + Lychee Spritz.

Fremantle-based Running With Thieves’ Passionfruit Vodka and Grapefruit Gin & Soda are also available.

Important information for patrons

Patrons are welcome to pack snacks or a picnic lunch and bring it to the show, with the exception of glass items which are prohibited. This year we will offer more tables and chairs and shade for patrons to sit and enjoy the spectacles.

Alcohol consumption on the Showground other than in licensed areas or designated areas approved by the Society is prohibited. No alcohol can be brought in from outside the grounds. Bags will be checked at all gates.

All 18+ patrons must have a valid/current photo ID presented upon arrival at our licensed areas. Children are allowed to enter the Long Paddock and Woody’s Bar with the supervision of an adult.

In all licensed areas, food will be served from 10am and alcohol will be served from 12pm.
